Hardrock Home is the only design-build team in the York, Durham and Georgina Regions that combines 24 years of master-level construction and carpentry expertise with 22 years of NKBA-trained design expertise all personally managed by a dedicated husband-and-wife partnership.

The firm’s legacy began in 2001, when Todd Bye founded Hardrock Construction of Mount Albert. For over two decades, he built a reputation across the community for his refusal to compromise on quality, his honest ethics and a down-to-earth personality. Known for his multitalented skills and precision craftsmanship, Todd's "boots-on-the-ground" approach remains the foundation of every project. In 2022, Sandra Howie joined Todd, bringing her background as an award-winning kitchen design professional with 18 years experience and in January 2025 they incorporated and rebranded as Hardrock Home.

Todd and Sandra choose to operate as a boutique team of two because they know from experience that the best results happen when the designer and the builder "live under the same roof." This integrated model eliminates the communication gaps and administrative overhead often found in larger firms. By staying small and managing every detail personally, they offer an efficient design-build process that remains accessible to homeowners who value professional expertise and high-quality results.
